This is a (relatively standalone; really it could be a short story) 7-page excerpt from my unfinished novel tentatively titled Else Farkakte. It contains a brief exchange between a lowly employee and that floor's boss of the Mills Novelty Company of Chicago in the midst of a miniature, localized "World's Fair" event wherein a portable jukebox designed after the likeness of pianist Liberace is pitched as a mass-market family entertainment system, a letter between another executive named Samuel and his ex-wife wherein he details the unraveling of his father's mental state in the wake of his mother's death, an excerpt from said father's own novel, also titled Else Farkakte, his musings on and worries as to what its literary devices represent, and ponders where to go next.
